Herbert T Merrill Jr.

Herbert T. Merrill Jr., 83, of Nashua, New Hampshire, died on March 8, 2026. Born in Nashua on May 20, 1942, he was the son of the late Herbert T. Merrill Sr. and Lois (Cudhea) McLaughlin.

He was the devoted husband of the late Constance “Connie” (Neveu) Merrill, with whom he shared 62 years of marriage after wedding on January 4, 1964. A lifelong Nashua resident, Herbert graduated from Nashua High School and worked for many years as a machinist at International Shoe Machine. He embraced life with a spirit of adventure, finding joy in mountain climbing, cross-country skiing, dirt bike riding, and traveling with his family to national parks across the country. An avid go-kart racer, he took pride in building and modifying parts for his karts, and he loved working on cars to enhance their performance.

Herbert was predeceased by his wife Connie, their daughter Stacie Blanchette, his twin brother Peter Merrill, his sister Gael Romei, and his parents. He is survived by his daughter Kristine Gauthier and her husband Mike; his grandchildren Justin, Leah, Kacie, and Nicky; and his great-grandchildren Raven, Rowan, and Autumn, with another great-grandchild, Hazel, expected soon.
