Herbert Glenn Johnson

Herbert Glenn Johnson, age 79, of Farmville, Virginia, passed away on March 11, 2026, in Henrico, Virginia. Born on July 6, 1946, at Farmville Hospital to the late George F. and Margie Carson Price Johnson, he was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Walter and George Johnson, and his granddaughter Brianna Nicole Johnson.

Herbert is survived by his son, Herbert Glenn Johnson Jr. and his wife Janet of Midlothian, Virginia; his devoted sister Doris Johnson Scruggs and her husband Kerry of Midlothian; and his sister-in-law Rachel Johnson of Blackstone, Virginia. He also leaves behind five nieces and one nephew.

In Farmville, he worked several jobs, including as a dispatcher for the Farmville Police Department. Later in life he resided at the Aable Rest Home in Cumberland, Virginia, where he formed many friendships and found joy in helping others. He loved playing the Virginia Lottery and was often seen walking to the local store for his daily tickets.

Herbert will be remembered for his passion for hunting and fishing, and for the time he spent with family and friends. He took special delight in teaching three of his nieces how to fish, and his warm presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
