Edwards sadly announces the passing of their father on Thursday, March 6th 2026 at 90 years of age from complications of COPD and diabetes. Herb was born in Salisbury, MA, received his education in the Newburyport, MA, school system, and was a graduate of the class of 1953. He obtained a Bachelor of Science from the University of Massachusetts and was involved in the building of high-rise structures in Boston, New York City, and Chicago as a former member of Millwright Union 1121. Herb retired after 23 years as a Senior Project Engineer for the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston. Herb was deeply involved in building a new High School and Ice Rink in Methuen, MA, and was the 3rd past president of the Methuen Youth Hockey Association.Herb lost his beloved wife of 64 years, Carole Edwards, in 2020, and his sister, Marilynn Turner, in 2022, and leaves behind sons Jeff Edwards of Meredith, NH, and close friend Christine Comeau of Sandown, NH; Greg Edwards and wife Lisa Edwards of Derry, NH; Scott Edwards and wife Drena Lucier-Edwards of Panama City, FL; daughter Kristen Cortes and husband Enric Cortes of Lynn Haven, FL; granddaughters Nicole Edwards, Kaili Edwards, and Ariane Cortes; and great granddaughter Florence Hartnett.Interment shall be at the family plot in Methuen, MA, at a latter date.
