Henry P. "Hank" Murphy Jr.

Henry P. "Hank" Murphy Jr., age 73, of Middletown, Delaware, passed away on March 6, 2026. Born in Newark, New Jersey on November 21, 1952, he was the son of the late Henry Patrick and Maria (Gulli) Murphy Sr.

Hank proudly served in the United States Army before building a career as a mechanic with the United States Postal Service. He found deep satisfaction in the outdoors, enjoying hunting, target shooting, and especially fishing, which led him to compete in the regional fishing circuit. He also took pleasure in challenging friends to games of pool. Above all, Hank cherished his family and treasured every moment spent with them.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Blanche Fyler. Hank is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Leslie (O'Donnell) Murphy; his brothers, Michael Murphy (Sharon) of St. Georges, Stephen Murphy (Lynn) of Oxford, Pennsylvania, and Kevin Murphy of St. Georges; his brother- and sister-in-law, Larry and Debbie O'Donnell; and many nieces and nephews, Jennifer, Katie, Linsey, Melissa, Megan, L.J. (Mary), Kevin, Brendan, Erin, Joseph, Carol, Charles, Robert, and Richard.
