Henry M. Vaughn, Jr., age 100, of Clinton Township, Michigan, passed away on March 10, 2026, at his home. Born on February 1, 1926, in Wheatcroft, Kentucky, to the late Henry and Lela (Farmer) Vaughn, he grew up with a quiet strength that would define his long life.
In 1944, Henry enlisted in the United States Navy, serving as a Seaman in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater during World War II until his honorable discharge in 1946. On October 9, 1948, he married Mary Ann DeKetelaere in Mount Clemens, Michigan. Their marriage lasted 69 years until her passing on August 24, 2018. Henry worked for more than 25 years at Consumers Energy, retiring in 1985. An avid outdoorsman in his younger days, he found joy in hunting, fishing, archery, bowling, and playing softball.
He is survived by his son, James (Roxanne) Vaughn, his daughters Kathleen (Garry) Doolittle, Peggy Vaughn, and Patricia Litteral, seven grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wife, Henry was preceded in death by his brother James and his sisters Edna and Mary Alice.
