Henry Lewis Hood Sr.

Mr. Henry Hood Sr., age 82, a resident of Belfast, TN passed away Friday, March 13, 2026 at his residence.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2026 at 2PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Pastor Chris Whidby officiating, burial will follow in Carlisle Cemetery. A Visitation will be held on Friday, March 20, 2026 at Heritage Funeral Home from 5-7PM and on Saturday from 1-2PM. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on June 5, 1943 in Bethel, TN, he was the son of the late James Hood and the late Reesa Beard Hood. Henry enjoyed being outdoors, working on his small farm, deer hunting, working in his yard, playing horseshoes, frog gigging, playing the guitar. He treasured spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was also the family barber for the men in his family. A loving brother, father, grandfather, cousin, and uncle he will be tremendously missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his children, Henry (Heather) Hood Jr. and Annette Thomas, brother, Tom (Nora) Hood, grandchildren, Joseph McCutcheon, Christopher (Kristin) Thomas, Jalynn Hood (Justin), Olivia Hood (Duane), nieces, nephews, cousins, and the mother of his children Peggy Hood.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers: Cleveland Hood, Wesley Hood, Dewey Hood, Bill Hood, sisters, Hattie Eatherly and Lilly Hood.

Those serving as pallbearers will be, Cody Hood, Dale Spears, Rocky Hood, Ben Spears, William Beard, and Daryl Eatherly.
