Henry Lee Hill, affectionately known as Uncle Jelly, was born on January 7, 1941, in Macon, Mississippi, to the late Anderson and Ella Hill. He confessed his faith in Christ at an early age and joined Mt. Moriah Methodist Church. Henry attended elementary and high school in Macon before moving to Chicago, Illinois, in 1969, where he worked various jobs throughout his years in the city.
Henry departed this life on February 19, 2026. He was preceded in death by his parents, Anderson and Ella Hill; his sisters Armeta Hill, Fannie Geraldine, and Esther Hill; and his brothers Walker, Lester, Calvert, Moses, and Wardell Hill.
He leaves to cherish his memory his niece Doris Evon Cotton and Kiesha Hill; his nephews Lionell Cotton (Valarie), Deon Hardimon, Larry Rollins, and Michael; his sister-in-law Jimmie Hill; and a host of other nieces, nephews, and cousins.
