February 21, 1942— March 10, 2026
De Soto, MO
Henry Frank Heuer was born on February 21, 1942, in DeSoto, Missouri, and passed away on March 10, 2026. A Master Gardener and dedicated beekeeper, Henry possessed a remarkable gift for nurturing life in all its forms. He tended vibrant gardens with care and generosity, sharing much of his harvest with those in need. He also cherished hunting for arrowheads, a pursuit he happily shared with his grandchildren, passing along his knowledge of history and his sense of adventure. His legendary sense of humor brought laughter and lightness to his family, especially his grandchildren, who remember his playful jokes with great fondness.
On July 5, 1969, Henry married Susan Merseal, and together they shared 56 years of devoted partnership. They raised their children on the family farm, where the land and its traditions formed the heart of their home. Their bond remained a steadfast source of strength for all who knew them.
Henry was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Pauline Paffendorf Heuer and Frank Henry Heuer, his son Ted Heuer, and his sister Frances Chott. He is survived by his wife Susan; his daughters Tina Thurman and husband Don of Fredericktown, Missouri, Jennifer Boyster and husband Tony of De Soto, Missouri, and Suzanne Merklin and husband Justin of Hillsboro, Missouri; his son Steve Heuer of De Soto, Missouri; his sister Mary Ann Heuer of De Soto, Missouri; and his brother Joseph Heuer and wife Sandy of De Soto, Missouri. His legacy lives on through his grandchildren Luther, Dylan, Lucy, Henry, Lily, Kelseton, Wyatt, Judson, Hadley, Jace, and Reid, and his great-grandchildren Addison, Isabelle, Elena, Audrey, Amelia, Bryson, Emmalinn, Rouger, Sterling, and Mateo.
