Henry Edmond Poirier Sr.

Henry Edmond Poirier, Sr., age 72, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 13. He was the devoted husband of over 51 years to Andrea Blackledge Poirier. Henry and Andi spent their entire lives together, having known each other since childhood.

He was the proud father of Henry Poirier, Jr. (Danielle), Amy Peavey (Will), and Roger Poirier, Sr. (Amy), and the doting Paw Paw of Andrew Poirier; Ethan and Joshua Peavey; and Roger and Remy Poirier. Henry was the beloved son of the late Dr. Roger Henry Poirier, Sr. and Thelma Diermann Poirier Franz, and the brother of the late Roger Henry Poirier, Jr. He was also the uncle of the late Tonja Poirier.

Henry worked at Sysco Food Services for over 20 years and was well liked by all who worked with him. An avid lifelong fisherman, he could be found anywhere along Lake Pontchartrain on any given day, and his fishing buddies always knew the fish would be wherever Henry happened to be. He was a friend to everyone he met, including every animal he encountered, but especially the many dogs and granddogs he loved over the years.
