Helen Wilson

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Helen Wilson, age 83, on March 17, 2026. A lifelong resident of Caneyville, Helen was born on September 7, 1942, to Kirby and Ida Mae Hurt Wilson. Known for her deep faith, warm spirit, and love for animals, Helen touched the lives of many in her community.Helen worked diligently as a Nursing Assistant at the Grayson County Health Department, where her compassion for others shone through. In her free time, you could often find her lost in a good book, reflecting her curious mind and love of learning.She is survived by her dear sister, Peggy Cummings, and two great-nieces, Hailey and Laura Climer, whom she lovingly raised. Helen will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She is preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Dan and W. H. Wilson.Family and friends are invited to gather to celebrate Helen's remarkable life. A funeral service will be held at Caneyville Funeral Home on March 24, 2026, beginning at 1:00 PM, with Ruth Hughes officiating. Prior to the service, there will be a public viewing from 9:00 AM to until the service time. Visitation will also take place on March 23, from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Following the service, Helen will be laid to rest in Wilson Family Cemetery, honoring her family legacy.We encourage all those who knew Helen to come and share their fond memories and say their goodbyes.
