Helen R. Sullivan

Helen R. Sullivan passed away peacefully on March 11, 2026. Born on July 15, 1937 in Paterson, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late Olga and Michael Rienstra. She was preceded in death by her husband Harry J. Sullivan, her sisters Frances Nagley and Grace Geilla, and her parents.

Helen devoted herself to her family and community with quiet generosity and steadfast kindness. A lifelong volunteer, she gave many hours to the Helton Ambulance Service, caring for others with warmth and reliability. She also held a deep love for animals, opening her heart and home to countless stray dogs that found their way to her, each one welcomed into a life of devoted care.

She is survived by her children Michele Decker (Keith Martin) of Thailand, Tammy Buff (Richard) of Hickory, Harry Glen Sullivan (Allison) of Creston, and Craig Sullivan (Cindy) of Zionville; her brother Michael Rienstra of Paterson, New Jersey; her grandchildren Holly Boozer (Cody), Meredith Decker, Mason Buff, Chloe Sullivan, Abby Sullivan, Ali Courtney (Dalton), Aidan Sullivan, and Ryder Sullivan; her great-grandchildren Teagan, Koen, and Grayson Macabee; and several nieces and nephews. Her spirit of compassion, her love for family, and her gentle generosity will be remembered and deeply missed by all who knew her.
