Helen Morris Bridges

Helen Morris Bridges, 91, of Greenwood, passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at NHC Healthcare Greenwood. Born in Sherwood, Tennessee, to the late Luther and Dona Morris, Helen devoted her life to her family as a loving homemaker. A woman of deep and abiding faith, she found lasting comfort and inspiration in reading her Bible and living out the teachings of her Holiness beliefs.

In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her son, James “Jamie” Alvin Bridges; her daughter, Carolyn Jan Bridges; four brothers, Bill, John, Jimmy, and Charles Morris; three sisters, Polly McCord, Martha Morris, and Verna Mobley; and her grandson, Evan Bridges.

She is survived by her children, Linda Bridges Irwin of Greenwood, South Carolina, Frankie Bridges (Patti) of Princeton, South Carolina, Ronnie Bridges of Hodges, South Carolina, and Teresa Shepherd (Steven) of Naples, Florida; fifteen grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Those who knew Helen will remember her quiet strength, her gentle spirit, and the deep love she held for her family.
