Helen Mae Temple

Helen M. Temple, 89, of Hendrysburg, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2026 at her home. Born on September 13, 1936 in Sewellsville, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Oscar and Golda (Sivard) Stephens. Helen was a 1954 graduate of Barnesville High School, where she graduated alongside her future husband, Hank. A lifelong resident of Sewellsville, she was a devoted homemaker and a longtime member of the Sewellsville United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her brothers, Earl (June) Stephens and Paul (Thomasine) Stephens, and her aunt, Jessie Taylor.

She is survived by her husband, George F. “Hank” Temple; her son, Lee (Cathy) Bohandy; her daughter, Lynne Bohandy; her granddaughter, Brianna Bohandy; her step-children, Pamela Temple, Nancy Jo Temple, Richard Temple, and Ronald Temple; several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; her special cousin, Marvin Stephens; several nieces and nephews; and her best friend and neighbor, Beverly Lawton. The family is grateful for the compassionate care Helen received from Amedisys Hospice and her caregiver, Leann Roberts.
