Helen Mabel Dickes

Helen Mabel Dickes, age 84, of Hartington, Nebraska, died on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at Accura Healthcare in Hartington.

Born on January 26, 1942, in Page, Nebraska, to Melvin Lee and Dorothea Mae (King) Hall Sr., Helen grew up in a large family and later made her home in the Hartington area. On October 24, 1992, she married Lawrence Joseph Dickes in Coleridge, Nebraska. Over the years, she worked as a machinist at Freeman Company, as an in-home caretaker, and as a CNA at the Hartington Care Center, roles that reflected her practical nature and her desire to help others.

Helen is survived by her husband, Lawrence, of Hartington; her daughter, Rita (Kruger) Lester and husband William; grandchildren Matt Schmidt, Ashley Berry, and Isaiah Kruger; and her three brothers, Melvin Hall Jr., Loren Hall, and Kenny Hall.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sons, Delbert Kruger Jr. and Kevin Kruger; and her sisters, Ruth Wright, Caroline Lundstrom, and Marjorie Hall.
