Helen M. (Haggerty) Dickinson

Helen M. Dickinson, 78 of Sarasota, Florida went to be with the Lord on Friday, February 6, 2026.

Helen was born on April 27, 1947, in Detroit, Michigan to Homer and Natalie Haggerty. She moved to the Sarasota, Florida area in 1976. She worked as an LPN nurse for many years, and as a caregiver afterwards. She was also a licensed Realtor.

While in Michigan, she enjoyed playing the organ at United Methodist Church in Detroit. She attended Church of the Palms in Sarasota and sang in the choir. Helen loved serving the Lord and enjoyed volunteering in the church community garden and food pantry, as well as hosting an angel tree child each Christmas. She also was involved in managing/scorekeeping for her daughter’s softball team for many years (Miss Sarasota Softball) which won a state championship one year. Her other talents and interests included creating beautiful stained glass artwork, gardening, playing golf, playing piano and singing.

She is survived by her husband, Dale Dickinson, of 47 years; daughter Debbie Blackmon of College Station, Texas and son Daniel (Jennifer) Kuntzman of Irving, Texas; grandson Seth Blackmon of College Station, Texas; sister, Hope (Bart) McFarlane of Northport, Florida; and brother, Harry Haggerty of Irving, Texas.
