Helen Kupiec Scanlan, 101, passed peacefully on Tuesday, March 10, 2025. Born on May 2, 1924, in Archbald, Pennsylvania, to the late Walter and Josephine Kupiec, Helen lived a long and full life marked by quiet strength and devotion to family. She worked for General Motors in Harrison, New Jersey, and later at Kleins Department Store in Woodbridge. After residing in Belleville and Iselin, she made her home in Toms River for more than forty years, where she remained an active communicant of St. Maximilian Kolbe Roman Catholic Church in Berkeley Township.

Helen was predeceased by her parents, Walter and Josephine Skalski Kupiec, her husband, Leo Scanlan, and her son, Michael Scanlan. She is survived by her niece Susan Menture and husband Michael, great-niece Laura Menture, and great-nephew Michael Menture, all of West Orange, New Jersey, as well as nieces Carol Kupiec and Eileen Kupiec of Scotia, New York. Her family will remember her gentle spirit and the steady love she gave throughout her century of life.
