Helen J. Warren

1936 — 2026

Knoxville, TN

Helen J. Warren, age 90, of Knoxville, passed away peacefully on March 13, 2026, surrounded by her family.

Born in Jefferson County, Tennessee, to Elizabeth and Lonnie Sartain, Helen spent her early years working on the family farm alongside her mother and uncles. At age 16, she moved to Morristown after her mother married Lane Bacon. For more than 60 years, she was a devoted member of Chilhowee Hills Baptist Church, where she became known as the “hands and feet of Jesus.” With a strong faith and a kind spirit, Helen lived as a Godly wife, mother, and grandmother—always giving, deeply caring, and fiercely devoted to her family, neighbors, and friends. In her final four and a half years, she found comfort and community at Trinity Hills Assisted Living.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Warren; her parents, Lonnie Sartain, Elizabeth, and Lane Bacon; her brother, John Bacon; and her son-in-law, Ronnie Smith.

Helen leaves behind a loving family who will cherish her memory: daughters and sons-in-law Darlene (Russell) Irwin, Sondra Smith, Diane (Allen) Nix, and Missy (Mike) Wilson; 12 grandchildren and their spouses; 20 great-grandchildren and their spouses; and many dear friends who will miss her warmth and presence.
