Hector T. Castillo

Hector T. Castillo, age 70, of Pleasanton, Texas, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2026, surrounded by family and friends. Born on December 12, 1955, in Jourdanton, Texas, to Rudolfo Montemayor Castillo, Sr., and Eloisa Trevino Castillo, Hector lived a life centered on the people and land he loved.

His greatest joy was his family. He found deep satisfaction in working outdoors, tending his garden, planting and transplanting chili pequin peppers hand-picked from the ranch, raising farm animals, fishing, hunting, making salsa, cooking barbecue, and gathering everyone together. He also held a special fondness for sweets, especially ice cream. Hector’s green thumb, generous spirit, and warm friendship left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

He is survived by his daughters, Dori A. Castillo and Rachel C. Rodriguez and her husband Adam Rodriguez; grandchildren Phil, Anabell, and Adalyna; brother Alonzo T. Castillo and wife Irma; sister Esther C. Gonzalez; and many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rudolfo Montemayor Castillo, Sr., and Eloisa Trevino Castillo; brothers Rudy Castillo Jr. and Oscar T. Castillo Sr.; and sister Mary Cruz.

Hector will be deeply missed and fondly remembered for his loving heart and the simple, meaningful ways he brought people together.
