Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mueller Funeral Home.Heather was born on December 13th, 1969, in Spring Valley, the daughter of Bradd and Emily (Briar) Von Holten. She grew up in Walnut, Illinois and was a 1988 graduate of Walnut High School. She was united in marriage to Todd Atwell on August 25th, 1990 and raised her family in Walnut before moving to Ottawa to be closer to her grandchildren.If you knew Heather, you knew that her family-especially her grandchildren-were the center of her world. They were her greatest joy, and she made sure to soak up every possible second with them. She enjoyed spending time with family traveling to Disney World, Navarre Beach, Florida, and various National Parks.Heather will be deeply missed by her husband, Todd; daughter Ashley (Chris) Culjan; grandchildren Grant, Brynlee, and Ava Culjan; father, Bradd Von Holten; brother, Sheldon Von Holten; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Emily (Briar) Von Holten.In keeping with Heather's wishes, her immediate family will privately celebrate her life.In lieu of flowers, Heather wished donations be made to Pet Project.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
