Hazel Capes ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Martin & Hightower Funeral Home - Carrollton on Mar. 16, 2026.It is with loving and grateful hearts that we share the passing of Hazel Horsley Capes, age 92, of Carrollton, Georgia. Hazel passed peacefully at her residence, surrounded by her family, and went home to be with her Lord on Monday, March 16, 2026.Hazel lived a long and faithful life of service to the Lord as a devoted member of the Church of Christ. She served her community through her work with Civitan, her volunteer work with the Hospital Auxiliary, and her church's clothing and food drives. Hazel was employed with Liberty National Insurance for more than 30 years.She was preceded in death by her husband, James Capes; her daughter, Susan LaPlante Doss; her parents, Jesse and Gladys (Jones) Horsley; her brothers, Claude, Harry, and Hamil Horsley; and her sister, Hilda Balenger.She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Angie Capes Noles (JP); her granddaughters, Jennifer LaPlante Cash and Tonya Pittman (Eric); her grandson, Jim Doss (Angel); and her great-grandchildren, Cason Pittman, Mallory Pittman, and Eleanor Doss.Family and friends are invited to gather to celebrate Hazel's life. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 19, 2026, from 11:30 AM until 1:30 PM at Martin & Hightower Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 PM at Carroll Memory Gardens, with Elder Ken Smith officiating.Messages of condolence may be shared with the family at www.martin-hightower.com.
