Preserve forever →Hazel A Hall
February 11, 1940— March 6, 2026
Dallas, TX
Hazel Albertha Williams Hall was born on February 11, 1940, in Savannah, Georgia, to Jessie Mae Lee. Jessie Mae later married Robert Williams, who lovingly accepted Hazel as his own. She was deeply influenced by her grandmother, Nazarene Martin, who served as a guiding force in her life. Though an only child, Hazel shared a close sisterly bond with her cousins Willa Mae McArthur, Clara Dean Cooper, and Mary Scott.
After graduating from high school in 1958, Hazel joined the United States Navy, where she met and married the love of her life, Jewel Hall. Together they built a loving family and were blessed with three children: Robert, Cynthia, and Thomas. The family eventually settled in Dallas, Texas, where Hazel created a warm and welcoming home on Oleta Drive and became a steady, valued presence in her community.
Faith was central to Hazel’s life. She served faithfully as Treasurer at Jonelle Missionary Baptist Church before uniting with Goodwill Baptist Church, where she continued her devotion as an usher and active member of several committees. She dedicated her professional life to serving others as a Nurse Coordinator at the Veterans Affairs Hospital, reflecting her compassionate spirit, commitment to excellence, and deep respect for those who had served the nation.
Hazel was a woman of curiosity, wisdom, and generosity. She loved to travel, creating cherished memories on trips to Rome and Alaska. She volunteered with ACORN, supported public broadcasting through PBS, and remained an engaged follower of current events and a devoted Dallas Cowboys fan. Above all, she was deeply devoted to her family, making her home a place of comfort, safety, and love. Her strength, kindness, and unwavering presence will remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
Hazel was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jewel Hall, and her eldest son, Robert Hall. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Cynthia Nixon; her son, Thomas Hall (Sheila Hall); her grandchildren, Temeika Stegall (John Stegall), Tamara Hall, Angela Hall Daniels, Adolphe Jackson IV, Samantha Haynes (Cassius Haynes), Ashley Fountain (Cortez Fountain), Jayden Hall, and Jaysa Hall; and her great-grandchildren, Marshall Damien Johnson, Hazel Daniels, Marquise Nixon, Ayana Daniels, John F. Stegall Jr., Akeva Daniels, Montez Haynes, Johntazhia Stegall, Cameron Haynes, Christopher Fountain, Elise Haynes, and Faith Fountain, along with a host of other relatives and dear friends.
