Haynie Marie Brooks

Haynie Marie Brooks, affectionately known as Marie to her friends and loved ones, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2026, in San Antonio, Texas. Born on April 18, 1945, in Cedar Bluff, Alabama, to Chesley and Exie Clifton, Marie lived a life marked by love, generosity, and kindness.

She retired from General Motors in Pontiac, Michigan, where her strong work ethic and commitment to excellence earned the respect of her colleagues. Deeply rooted in her faith, Marie expressed her beliefs through quiet acts of service, always offering a helping hand and a warm smile to those around her.

Above all, her greatest joy came from her family. She was a devoted mother to her daughters, Felicia Martin and Teresa Hall, and a cherished grandmother to Limesha (Jamille) Wilson, Desmond Matirne, Aisha (Ja'Micheal) Smith, and Deja Hall. Marie was blessed to know her great-grandchildren A'Zai, Ari'Yel, Ja'Kai, Isaac, and Eliza, each of whom brought her special delight and warmth.

Marie leaves behind a host of relatives and friends whose lives she touched with her gentle spirit. Her memory will live on in the stories shared, the lessons she taught, and the love she gave so freely.
