Harvey Leon Alman

September 4, 1936 March 8, 2026

Boynton Beach, FL

Harvey L. Alman, age 89, of Boynton Beach, Florida, formerly of Malden and Peabody, passed away on March 8, 2026.

Born and raised in Malden, he was the son of the late Oscar and Sara Alman. Harvey built a successful career in the food distribution industry, opening and operating Alman Food Distributors for many years before later running The Cutting Board, a restaurant in Vinnin Square, Swampscott. He remained an avid Red Sox fan throughout his life, taking special delight in bringing his children, grandchildren, family, and friends to Fenway Park. Known for his dry sense of humor, he would entertain everyone in his seats by insisting he could talk to the coaches and replace players when necessary.

After moving to Florida, Harvey returned to the tennis court with characteristic determination. He progressed from winning first prize in mixed doubles to repeatedly claiming top honors in men’s tournaments, proudly displaying photographs of himself with his trophies at the clubhouse.

Harvey was the devoted husband of Joan (Semler) Alman and the late Zelda (Sheinfield) Alman. He was the beloved father of Rosalyn and her husband Ronald Stults of Beverly, Sheldon and his wife Janet Alman of Tewksbury, and the late Steven and his surviving wife Lisa Alman of Peabody. He was the adored grandfather of Sharon and her husband Charles Neal, Jacob, Samantha, and Sabrina. He was also the dear brother of the late Kalman Alman and the late Lorraine Marcus.
