Harshadbhai Patel ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Lohman Funeral Home Daytona on Mar. 6, 2026.Harshadbhai Nathabhai Patel, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and dedicated physician, passed away peacefully on March 02, 2026, in Ormond Beach, Florida, at the age of 90. Born on February 6, 1936, in Nadiad, India, he lived a vibrant and full life, touching the hearts of all who knew him with his strength, faith, and steady presence. His journey took him from his birthplace in Nadiad, India to Zambia, to the Bahamas, and finally to Florida, where he spent his later years close to his family. As a general practitioner in the Bahamas, he cared for his community in a way that went far beyond medicine. His patients became his friends, and his friends became family. He was preceded in death by his devoted wife, Madhuben Patel, with whom he shared a lifetime of love and partnership. Together, they built a life and a family that will carry their legacy forward for generations. He is survived by their three sons and their spouses: Jayendra and Nita, Hitesh and Jalpa, and Amit and Nita, as well as his seven grandchildren, Neel, Kesal, Mitul, Dillon, Megan, Nikita, and Cyra, who filled his life with joy, laughter, and pride.A man of deep Hindu faith, he didn't just practice his beliefs. He lived them. His faith guided everything he did and grounded his family through every chapter of their lives. He was a man of remarkable discipline and routine. He walked every single day without fail. His nap from two to three o'clock was non-negotiable, followed immediately by tea, and if he wasn't up for teatime, you knew something was wrong. He kept this ritual even while practicing medicine in the Bahamas. He loved his fruit, was particular about his meals, and never missed the news. He had a curiosity that kept him sharp, always on his iPad, always wearing his Apple Watch, always researching something new and staying current with the world. He was known for being strict and principled, but when his grandchildren came along, he softened in the most beautiful way. He gave them his time freely and never missed a single milestone, not a birthday, not an achievement, not a card. You could always count on him to remember. When he retired and came to the United States, it wasn't to slow down, it was to be with his sons and grandchildren. He wanted to be present, and he was, anchoring his family with the same quiet strength he had carried across continents and decades.Harshadbhai's life was a testament to faith, discipline, family, and service. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered by his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
