Norwood - Harry Newman Brabon, 90, passed away Saturday, March 14, 2026, at United Helpers - Maplewood in Canton. He was born on June 22, 1935, in Malone, son of the late Eugene and Arietta (Cummings) Brabon. He graduated from St. Regis Falls High School in 1955, then attended Roberts Wesleyan College. He married Ida May Fadden on June 8, 1957, at the St. Regis Falls Holiness Movement Church. He Pastored the Norwood Free Methodist Church from 1959-1962. Harry worked at Potsdam Paper Mill, ALCOA, then Northern Mechanical for many years, retiring in 2000.He is survived by his wife, Ida, his children, David Brabon, Kevin Brabon and Kimberly and Colin Smith, his grandchildren, Jacob and Jessica Brabon, Kady and Justin Squires, Shannon and Carson Fuhrman, his great grandchildren, Shepherd Brabon, Olivia Brabon, Jack Pluta, Kaylah Pluta and Lola Pluta, many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, Barclay, Jack, Harley and Alton.He loved to be in the woods, cutting wood, hunting, fishing and always had a story or two to tell after. He was an avid Syracuse University Basketball fan. He had a strong faith in God and was a member of the Free Methodist Churches of Norwood and St. Regis Falls.Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 19th from 1pm to 3pm at the Free Methodist Church in St. Regis Falls. Funeral services will begin at 3 pm. A reception will follow the funeral at the St. Regis Falls Adult Center. He will be buried at Forest Cemetery in St. Regis Falls. Arrangements are entrusted to Hammill Funeral Home in St. Regis Falls, where memories can be shared with his family online at www.hammillfh.com.Please consider donations in his honor to the St. Regis Falls Free Methodist Church
