Doylestown, PA

Harry James Wiley, 86, of Doylestown, Pennsylvania, passed away on March 5, 2026 at Doylestown Hospital. Born in Abington, Pennsylvania, he spent his life in the area, growing up in Penndel beside the Monmouth Skating Rink. A graduate of Neshaminy High School, Class of 1958, Harry served in the U.S. Army’s 3rd Armored Division from 1963 to 1969, primarily in Germany as chaperone to a five-star general.

For 41 years, Harry worked as a Grocery Manager for Acme Markets across many stores. He found his greatest pleasures in weekly roller-skating nights at Holiday Rink in Delanco, New Jersey, where he was known as one of the smoothest and most skilled skaters among a close circle of friends. He also enjoyed Monday night team bowling at Penndel Lanes with his friend Louey. A proud owner of a classic black 1957 Chevy that he drove daily for many years, Harry looked forward each year to family vacations in Ocean City, New Jersey, where he happily embraced the role of a beach bum. Creative and resourceful, he took pride in his unique ideas and his ability to fix things, always willing to try new approaches.

Harry was a longtime member of Newtown Lodge #427 and a 32-degree Mason of Allentown for more than 50 years.

He was the son of the late Walter R. and Martha Wiley, brother of his late twin Larry, and late niece Karen. Harry is survived by his beloved wife of 33 years, Dorothy Stevens Wiley, and his former wife, Barbara. He was the father of Gary Wiley, Joan and her husband John, Wendi, Robert Sr. and his wife Judy Adams, and Jeffrey and his wife Karen Adams. He was the proud grandfather of Maggie, Sadie, Randy, Cassidy, Robert Jr., Ryan (Maria), Brian, and Jackie, and is also survived by his great-grandchildren, his niece Kristen, great-nephews Tyler and Dylan, and great-niece Grace.
