Harry Anthony Mancino
August 25, 1948— March 8, 2026
Salt Lake City, UT
Harry Anthony Mancino, age 77, of Salt Lake City, Utah, passed away on March 8, 2026.
Born in Denver, Colorado in 1948 to Placido and Kathryn “Kay” Mancino, Harry spent much of his early life in Manchester, New Hampshire, where he formed many lifelong memories and friendships. In March of 1978, he became a paraplegic following an accident. With remarkable determination, he refused to let this define him, becoming the first paraplegic skier, pushing the St. George marathon, and competing in wheelchair tennis and basketball. His resilience and spirit inspired everyone around him.
An avid outdoorsman who loved nature, Harry especially enjoyed camping, fishing, and observing birds. A passionate member of the Audubon Society, he found peace and joy in the natural world. Known for his intelligence, quick wit, and generous heart, Harry possessed a charismatic personality that drew people to him. He made friends easily and left lasting impressions wherever he went. Above all, he cherished his family and friends deeply.
He is survived by his children, Walter Marks, Sabrina Kalechman and her husband Abe, and Darren Mancino; his grandchildren, Chelsea, Kristopher, Alysha, Anthony, Jagger, Logan, and Gianna; and his great-grandchildren, Lane, Cole, and Easton. He is also survived by his brothers, Michael Mancino and Dominic Mancino and his wife Diane; his nephews, Christopher Mancino (Maricela) and Michael Mancino (Kate); and his nieces, Dawn Hill (Dwight) and Melody Cybulski (Mike). He was preceded in death by his parents and by the love of his life, Charlene.
Affectionately known as “Papacino” to his family, Harry will be returned to nature by his children. A day of remembrance will be held in New Hampshire at a future date.
