Harriet Joy Berg Amdur (Halper), lovingly known as “Bubs,” passed away peacefully on March 10, 2026, at the age of 90. Born on October 30, 1935, in St. Paul, Minnesota, she was the beloved matriarch and the light of her family.
Preceded in death by her husband Harvey David Amdur, her parents Morris and Rose Berg, and her siblings Robert, Marilyn, and Merle, Harriet is survived by her children David, Cheryl (Isadore) Saide, and Rose (John) Amdur Marron; her grandchildren Sarah Saide, Rebecca Saide, Amy (Jared) Zachman, Katie (Jeremy) Netka, Leah Marron, Carly Marron, Max (Emily) Marron, and Michael Green; and her great-grandchildren Harper, Henry, Hudson, and Isla. Later in life she shared a loving partnership with Richard Picquet, finding companionship, laughter, and deep joy in their time together.
Harriet devoted her career to teaching and nurturing children as a Montessori Director, guiding young lives with patience, warmth, and encouragement. She also served as First Vice President of the Sisterhood at Adath Jeshurun Congregation, where she celebrated Jewish traditions and shared her love of Yiddish with her children and grandchildren. Known for her elegant sense of fashion and vibrant personality, she left a memorable impression on everyone she met.
To her family, she was simply “Bubs,” the heart of every gathering whose extraordinary ability to make others feel loved, supported, and welcomed defined her life. Her love, strength, and spirit will live on through the family she cherished. May her memory be a blessing.
