He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Patricia; his children, Robert Wissing (Dianne), Deborah Yalango (late Daniel), Gerard Wissing (Laura), John Wissing (Patti), James Wissing, Jeanine Wissing and Carolyn; his grandchildren, Kara, Jack, Daniel, Lauren, Gerard Jr., Dane, Collin, Elyse, Brian, Kiera, Beth and Mason; and his great grandchildren, Madison, Cameron, Ella, Austin and Jaxson.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 12th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM and from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Claude R. Boyd/Spencer Funeral Homes (448 W Main St, Babylon, NY 11702). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, March 13th 2026 at 9:30 AM at the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church (455 Hunter Ave, West Islip, NY 11795).
