Harold Swofford, Jr.

Harold Swofford, Jr., age 73, of Silex, Missouri, passed away on March 13. Born in Tennessee to Harold Sr. and Dorothy, he graduated from Riverview Gardens and served in the United States Navy, receiving an honorable discharge. He later worked as a bus driver for the Ferguson-Florissant School District until his retirement.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Loretta; his parents; and his brothers, Donald, Albert (Paris), and Claude. He is survived by his daughter, Kathleen Cardenas-Salas (Michael); his son, Bryan Gawedzinski (LeeAnn); and his grandchildren, Hailey and Jacob. He also leaves behind his close friend and “brother from another mother,” Mike Hrenak.

Harold was an avid outdoorsman who found deep joy in hunting and fishing, tending his garden, and spending time with his beloved dogs. His quiet strength and steady presence will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
