Harold Eugene Boyer, born on September 18, 1933, in Palmyra, Missouri, passed peacefully at home in Severance, Colorado, on March 10, 2026, at the age of 92.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Clara (Hagaman) Boyer, his brothers Leslie and Glenn, his sisters Carolyn and Marjorie, and his granddaughter Jessica Weyer. Harold is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Verna (Inkster) Boyer, and their children David, Susan, and Judy. He cherished his 16 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren, finding deep joy in every moment spent with his growing family.

Harold grew up in Palmyra, Missouri, attended the University of Missouri, and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict, attaining the rank of SP4 as an instructor at the Southeastern Signal School at Camp Gordon, Georgia. After his honorable discharge, he completed his accounting degree in 1958. He began his career at Price Waterhouse in St. Louis and in 1962 became Director of Internal Auditing at the University of Missouri-Columbia, where he served until his retirement in 1998.

A lifelong athlete, Harold excelled in softball, table tennis, and other sports, earning recognition for his abilities during his Army years. He was a devoted elder in the Lutheran church, led Bible studies for many years, and maintained perfect attendance at the Cosmo Breakfast Club for over three decades. He poured his energy into the community by administering the Youth Football League for more than 30 years, an effort that led to a football field being named in his honor. In 2004, Harold and Verna moved to Fort Collins, Colorado, where he continued his service as treasurer for the Golden Kiwanis Club, led discussions at the Senior Center, and volunteered his expertise as a CPA to help seniors with their taxes each year.

Harold will be remembered for his deep faith, his gentle spirit, his dedication to family, and the quiet joy he brought to everyone around him.
