Harold “Harry” Erickson passed away on Friday, March 6, 2026, at the age of 86, after a prolong battle with kidney disease.
Harold was born on April 10, 1939, in La Crosse, WI, to Elmer and Alice Erickson.
Harold married Karen Bohn on March 27, 1965. Harold was a true outdoorsman; he cherished the call of the wild and spent countless hours training field trial dogs and listening to their barks in the night. His love for the great outdoors was evident on his annual trips out west with his beloved wife, Karen. He also enjoyed trips up north to “Winne," a favorite destination of his. A proud member of Local 49, Harold dedicated 61 years of his life to union work.
Harold is survived by his children; David Erickson and Pamela (Larry) Schindler; sister, Janie Gady, godson, Randy Gady; goddaughter, Rachel Aberle; nephew, Brian Erickson; sister and brother-in-law, Mechelle and Arnold Nelson; many other extended family members; and honorary grandkids.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Karen; parents, Elmer and Alice; siblings John Erickson and Harlan Erickson; brother-in-law, Raymond Gady; and cousin, Roger Erickson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the American Kidney Fund.
A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at Hoff Celebration of Life Center (3480 Service Dr. Winona, MN) at 11am with visitation beginning at 10am. Visitation will also be held on Friday, March 27, 2026, 4pm-6pm at Hoff Celebration of Life Center. A private family burial will take place at Cedar Velley Cemetery.
