Harold was born September 4, 1935 at Rock Creek, KS, the son of Lewis Francis and Elsie Evelyn Kerr Watson.He was a 1953 graduate of Valley Falls High School. He was a U.S. Army Veteran serving May 19, 1958 to May 10, 1960. He worked 24 years for Henry Manufacturing/Alice Chalmers before they closed. He then worked in maintenance and transportation for the Capper Foundation, retiring in 1998 after 10 years. Harold was a member of Rolling Hills Christian Church in Topeka, a member of the Red Dale Camping Club, and the Excel Camping Club of America. He was an avid fan of NASCAR and Dale Earnhardt, Sr.Harold was married to Kathryn Alice Lawrence on August 6, 1965 at Perry Christian Church. She preceded him in death on May 1, 2019. Survivors include a daughter, Brenda Watson, Topeka, KS; a son, Dave (Marla) Watson, Topeka, KS; one sister, Leah R. Lawrence, Perry, KS; two brothers, Jimmy (Alice) Watson, Topeka, KS; Ronnie (Candace) Watson, Valley Falls, KS; three grandchildren, Ericca (Tyler), Branden (Ashley), Addie; five great-grandchildren, Trenton, Nolan, Westin, Raylan, and Oaklan; and many nieces, nephews and extended family. He was preceded in death by a sister, Laverne Harmon.Funeral Service will be 10:00 AM, Thursday, March 26, 2026 at Rolling Hills Christian Church, Topeka. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Wednesday, March 25, 2026 at the Rolling Hills Christian Church. Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Topeka. Memorials suggested to Rolling Hills Christian Church Memorial Fund.
