He worked at Boulevard Temple Retirement Home in Detroit, Michigan, as head of the maintenance department, where he dedicated many years of service before retiring.Dave was an outdoorsman at heart. He enjoyed hunting, boating, golfing, and snowmobiling (funny how all these activities were turned into poker runs). Whether in the woods, on the water, on the golf course, or on a snowmobile trail, he was at home outdoors.He was preceded in death by his wife of 30 years, Mary, who passed in 2016, his son, David Meyers, his daughter, Pamela Meyers, and his step-grandchild, Whitney.He is survived by his seven sons and stepsons, James Patrick Meyers (wife, Niki), Steven Meyers (wife, Barbara), Ken Harris (wife, Sue), Robert Harris (wife, Leilani), Carl Whorley (wife, Christina), Mike Whorley (wife, Becky), and James Perry Meyers (wife, Carri).He is also survived by 29 grandchildren and step-grandchildren, Heather, Faith, Zoe, Caleb, Jacob, Liz, Zach, Sarah, Mariah, Ana, Sarah, Adam, Cari, David, Andrew, Sebastian, Jonathan, Alyssa, Cody, Hunter, Missy, Nathan, Colton, Kyle, Holly, Matt, William, Jesse, and Kara.His legacy continues through his 32 great-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren, Christian, Carter, Liam, Kaiden ("Bubby"), Salem, Willow, Hazel, Chase, Carter, Wesley, Augustus, Naomi, Zoya, Peyton, Piper, Pierce, Brody, Ryleigh, Issac, Carly, Juliane, Levi, Ben, Magan, Audra, Dylan, Carson, David, Joshua, Maximus, Isabella, and Mara with two additional great-grandchildren expected soon (Mia and Baby Boy Harris).In his final years, his sarcastic wit earned him "Comedian of the Year" three years in a row at his assisted living facility. Dave will be remembered most for his sense of humor, always armed with an arsenal of one-liners and snappy wisecracks.
