Griffin, of Pemberton, passed away on March 14, 2026, at Virtua Memorial in Mount Holly. He was 92 years old.Son of the late Harold and Bessie Griffin, Harold was born January 16, 1934, in Burlington, NJ. He was a lifelong Pemberton resident, attending Pemberton high school graduating in 1952. After high school Harold went to Trenton State College for two years before leaving and joining the United States Navy. After his honorable discharge from Naval service, Harold went back to college and received his master's degree in education. He worked at several school districts as a teacher, then principal and finally as a guidance counselor before retiring from Pemberton high school in 1998. Harold did have a life in politics, serving as the mayor of Pemberton Township, then as the mayor of Pemberton Borough serving as the mayor until he was 90 years old. Harold is also a member of the Pemberton Hall of Fame. He loved sports, especially playing basketball. Harold was also proud of being a blueberry farmer. He was also a member of the Pemberton's First Baptist Church and sang in the choir. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.Harold is survived by his beloved wife of 70 years Deanna Griffin, his children Sheree Mehl and her husband William Mehl Jr., Glenn Griffin, Len Griffin and his wife Constance Griffin, his grandchildren Billy, Sean, Vincent, Summer, Dylan, Deven, Deanna, and Chad, as well as 10 great grandchildren, his brother William Griffin, and his sister Mary Head.Friends and relatives are invited to attend a viewing for Harold on Wednesday March 18, 2026 from 10am-12pm at the Pemberton's First Baptist Church, 59 Hanover Street, Pemberton, NJ 08068. A funeral service for Harold will follow the viewing at 12pm at the church. Interment and Military honors will follow the funeral services at the Old Odd Fellows Cemetery, 30 Egbert Street, Pemberton NJ 08068.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
