Harlan J. Handy Sr.

With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Harlan J. Handy Sr. of Bleecker, New York, born in Gloversville, New York, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on March 9, 2026 at the age of 74. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Harlan Handy and Betty VanNostrand Handy; and his brothers, Louis and William "Billy" Handy. He is survived by: his wife Bonnie K. Horning Handy; his children, Michelle "Lacy" Halliday of Ballston Spa and Harlan "Jay" Handy, Jr. (Angela) of Bleecker; his brothers, Timothy Handy of St. Johnsville, Donald Handy of Mayfield, David Handy of Mayfield and Aaron Handy (Debbie) of Mayfield; his grandchildren, Cynthia, Cristen (Denzel), Caitlin, Jason and Noah; and his great grandchildren, Violet and Maddy. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be held on Monday, March 16th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Halgas Funeral Home (111 Co Rd 106, Johnstown, NY 12095). A memorial service will be held on Monday, March 16th 2026 at 5:00 PM at the same location.
