Hargus Martin Jr.

Hargus Martin, Jr., age 89 of Hueysville, Kentucky, husband of Ada Bentley Martin, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2026, at Highlands ARH in Prestonsburg, Kentucky. Born on July 1, 1936, in Hueysville, he was the son of the late Hargus and Julia Layne Martin. A retired coal miner and truck driver, Hargus found deep joy in the outdoors, especially fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Ada; one son, Donald (Brenda) Martin; two daughters, Delisa (John) Howard and Doris Martin, all of Hueysville; five grandchildren, Wes Howard, Donetta Wallace, Leah Turner, Andrea Thacker, and Nathan Bartrum; and eleven great-grandchildren, Lakyn House, Brooklyn Moore, Amelia Wallace, Keithen Moore, Lydia Wallace, Ryder Thacker, Gabrielle Howard, Chloe Howard, Maddox Howard, Bentley Howard, and Emery Bartrum.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Jimmy Martin, two sisters, Norma Jean and Alice Martin, and one grandson, Matthew Prater.
