Hallene Palmer

Hallene Palmer, 87, formerly of Dorsey, passed away on March 11, 2026, at Chapters Living of Edwardsville with her family by her side. She was born on September 5, 1938, in Alton, the daughter of the late Harold and Emma (Denother) Cathorall. She married Edgar Palmer on March 10, 1961, in Fosterburg, and he preceded her in death on February 5, 2019.

Hallene was formerly employed at Alton Bottled Gas and attended the Bethalto Presbyterian Church. She is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, David and Marla Palmer of Wood River and Steven and Kim Palmer of Highland, as well as her sisters, Gertrude Cathorall and Delores Jennings, both of Aurora, North Carolina, and many nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Marie Reiter.
