Hadzira Balic

Hadzira Balic, 69, of Bridgewater, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, March 9, 2026. Born on March 29, 1956, in Bosnia-Herzegovina, she was the daughter of the late Dervo Maric and Zejna Maric. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Mujo Maric.

Hadzira worked at Perdue Farms in Bridgewater. She will be remembered as a caring and devoted mother who brought her family to the United States nearly thirty years ago from her native Bosnia-Herzegovina. Her life’s focus was creating a safe and peaceful future for her children and giving them the opportunity to pursue the American Dream.

She is survived by her husband, James Miller, whom she married in 1977; her two children, Vedran Balic and Jasmina Vickers; her son-in-law, Derek Vickers; and her four grandchildren, Ava Wilfong, Lillie Vickers, Duke Vickers, and Lake Vickers. She is also survived by her siblings: sister Ramiza Maric of Amman, Jordan; sister Camila Škegro of Mostar, Bosnia; and brothers Džemal Maric and Ramiz Maric, both of Mostar, Bosnia.
