H. Dennis Smith

H. Dennis “Denny” Smith of Upper Black Eddy, Pennsylvania, passed away on March 6, 2026, at Phoebe Richland in Richlandtown, Pennsylvania. He was 83.

Born in Doylestown, Pennsylvania, Denny was the son of the late Manning and Ethel (Templeton) Smith. A longtime resident of Upper Black Eddy since 1991, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Ornamental Horticulture from Delaware Valley University and worked for many years in the Recorder of Deeds Office for Bucks County.

Denny found quiet joy in gardening, solving puzzles, reading, and following sports. A devoted fan of Penn State, the Philadelphia Eagles, and the Philadelphia Phillies, he especially loved cheering for Penn State football on Saturday afternoons. He also gave generously of his time as a longtime Republican committeeman and as a member of the Palisades School District Board of Directors.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Andrianna “Pidge” (Ferri) Smith; his devoted stepchildren, Stacey Becker (Judy Gatto) and Todd Becker (Christine); and his cherished dog, Louie.
