Fenton, MI

Gwenn Ellis Rauch, age 83, of Fenton, formerly of Cleveland, Ohio and Grand Blanc, Michigan, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2026.

Born on August 23, 1942, in Cleveland, Ohio, Gwenn was the daughter of Arthur and Helen (Ellis) Johns. She married John Rauch on December 23, 1967, in Grand Blanc, Michigan. The couple shared a loving marriage until John’s passing on October 6, 2012.

A proud graduate of Bowling Green University who continued her studies at Oakland University, Gwenn devoted more than thirty years to teaching second and third grade at Myers Elementary School in the Grand Blanc School District. She touched the lives of countless children with her warmth and dedication. After retirement, she remained active through the Michigan Association of Retired School Personnel and at the Loose Senior Center, while staying deeply involved with Trinity Lutheran Church in Fenton and, earlier, Faith Lutheran Church in Grand Blanc.

Gwenn found great joy in her creative pursuits, excelling at cross-stitch, needlepoint, basket weaving, and jewelry making. Family and friends will always treasure the many handmade gifts she crafted with love. Above all, she cherished time spent with her family, especially her granddaughters.

She is survived by her daughters, Janet (Jonathan Elenbaas) Rauch and Susan (Andrew) O’Daniel; her granddaughters, Jessica and Ashley O’Daniel; and her brother, Greg (Joanne) Johns. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Helen Johns, and her husband, John Rauch.
