Gwendolyn Artist-Klyce ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Starks Family Funeral Homes & Cremation Services - Clark Chapel - Dowagiac on Mar. 7, 2026.Gwendolyn "Gwen" Artist-Klyce, 64, of Cassopolis, Michigan, passed away peacefully early Thursday morning, March 5, 2026, at Corewell Health Lakeland Hospital, surrounded by the love of her family.Gwen was born March 23, 1961, in Chicago, Illinois, to Charles and Dorothy (Fields) Artist. She grew up with a strong sense of family and faith that would remain central throughout her life. On June 27, 1993, she married the love of her life, Lloyd H. Klyce, beginning a devoted partnership filled with laughter, support, and shared faith.Gwen worked for more than a decade with Norfolk Southern Railway, where she was known for her dedication and reliability before retiring in 2020. Outside of work, Gwen found her greatest joy in her family. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, sharing stories, offering guidance, and making sure everyone felt cared for and supported.Her faith was also an important part of who she was. Gwen was a devoted member of the Dowagiac Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses and cherished her congregation family at the Kingdom Hall. Her kindness, warm spirit, and encouraging words touched many who knew her.Gwen will be deeply missed by those who loved her most, including her devoted husband, Lloyd Klyce; four sons, Antuan Wilkerson, Randall (Kathleen) Shelby, Lloyd Jr. (Katie) Klyce, and Nelson "Mandella" (Desiree) Klyce; loving mother, Dorothy Artist; two brothers, Charles Artist and Derrick Artist; and her many cherished grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family members.She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Artist; and brother, Clarence Brodia.Honoring Gwen's wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service to celebrate Gwen's live will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, March 14, at the Dowagiac Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 30051 M-62, Dowagiac.
