Gwen Percival ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Olpin Family Mortuary on Mar. 12, 2026.Gwen Percival, age 78, passed away peacefully at her home in Pleasant Grove, Utah, on March 11, 2026.Gwen Harper Percival was born on February 19, 1948, in American Fork, Utah, to Charles Adolph Harper and Mary Juliet Salerno Harper. She was the third of four daughters. Throughout her life, Gwen lived in several places, including Pleasant Grove, Utah; Monterey, California; and Calgary, Alberta, Canada, before eventually returning to Pleasant Grove, the place she always considered home.Gwen was known for her creativity and remarkable talent for crafts. She generously shared her time teaching and encouraging others, freely passing on her knowledge and love of creating. Her many skills included porcelain doll making, hemstitching, knitting, crochet, embroidery, and countless other crafts, far too many to list. Those who knew her will greatly miss her passion for these traditional arts. Gwen was also an exceptional cake decorator who created many beautiful and memorable cakes for family celebrations and special occasions. She had a unique ability to learn to cook or create almost anything, often without a pattern or recipe.She found great joy in gardening and loved caring for her flowers and plants. One of her favorite pastimes was shopping, and she took pride in finding great deals and happily sharing them with family and friends. Gwen was known for her thoughtful nature, often leaving small gifts for others as a way of showing she was thinking about them. She especially loved children and was well known for always carrying candy with her to share.Gwen was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully in many callings. Some of her favorite callings included teaching cooking classes, serving as stake extraction director, working in the Primary, and serving as secretary in the Relief Society.She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Mary Harper, her husband Neil, and her sister, Carol.She is survived by her three children, as well as five grandchildren, her two sisters, and many nieces and nephews.A private family gathering will be held to honor Gwen's life.Memories and condolences may be shared through the online memorial at Olpin Family Mortuary.In lieu of flowers, the family invites others to honor Gwen's memory by performing a random act of kindness for someone in need.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
