Guy Paul Vertefeuille, 75, of Chaplin, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2026, while in hospice care at Matulaitis Nursing Home.
Born on September 30, 1951, in Willimantic, Connecticut, Guy spent most of his life in Chaplin. The son of the late Faith and Paul Vertefeuille, he built a long and respected career at AZ Corporation before retiring.
Guy loved the outdoors and the simple pleasures of life. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, tended a productive garden, and took pride in canning the food he grew. He held a special affection for the wild beauty of Alaska and found great joy in sharing stories that left friends and family laughing. Known for his caring nature and generous spirit, he would readily give the shirt off his back to help others. He cherished traveling and fishing with his brother Kim, enjoyed a glass of Yukon Jack with good company, and shared a devoted bond with his beloved dog, Pooch. Though he had no children of his own, he was especially close to his nephew Noah and treasured their time together.
Guy is survived by his brother Scott Vertefeuille, his nephew Noah Vertefeuille, and Noah’s wife Sylvie Vertefeuille. He was predeceased by his parents, Faith and Paul Vertefeuille, and his brothers Kim Vertefeuille and Curt Vertefeuille.
