He was predeceased by: his parents, Gus C. Klaus, and Linda Lee Klaus, Sr. (Junek); and his brother Alton Klaus. He is survived by: his wife Cecilia Klaus; his children, Dianna M Dorland, Barbara L Fout, Joyce K Meine (Ronnie), Sharon M Janoe (Rick), Nancy G Canales and Mike C Klaus; and his grandchildren, Cristen-ann Crabb, Guenhwyvar Dorland, Kimberly Oosthuizen (Nico), Kalie Adams, Zach Adams, Carl Pace, Amy Pace, Marcus Cantrell, Benny Canales and Samantha Canales.

A rosary will be held on Thursday, March 12th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the St. Joseph Catholic Church (506 Edward St, Rowena, TX 76875). A Mass will be held on Thursday, March 12th 2026 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rowen in Gus's name.
