Gus

Gus was a beloved dog known and adored by all who crossed his path. Even those who never met him personally knew of the legend that was Gus. He was the best boy with many affectionate nicknames: Gus Gus, Goofy Gus, Baby Gus, Gusmus, Gus Gus Asparagus, Fluffy Gussy, Fabio, and Kenny.

Fiercely loyal, Gus always wanted to be as close as possible to those he loved, yet he remained endearingly afraid of life’s simplest things—hot air balloons, the washing machine, and anything out of place. These quirks only made him more special. He lived with pure joy, laying upside down, holding paws, performing his happy dance at mealtime, giving high fives, diving first into the water, freeing stuffies of their squeakers, riding in cars with his head out the window and ears flapping in the wind, chasing birds at the park, eating pizza crusts and the occasional stolen steak, joining dance parties, and befriending everyone he met.

Gus’s life brought smiles, laughter, and joy to everyone around him. He left a lasting impression wherever he went, and life on earth will not be the same without him. He crossed the rainbow bridge unexpectedly while running in the yard on his Aunt Tracy’s heavenly birthday, and those who loved him find comfort knowing the two are now together, laughing, playing, and running through the clouds.

He will be forever missed but forever remembered. To know Gus was to immediately love him.
