Chavez passed away on March 7, 2026 at home in the company of her loving husband of 59 years, Domingo L. Chavez, Sr. She was 78 years old.Lupe was born in Fredericksburg, Texas on February 8, 1948 to Magdaleno and Margarita Lara Gutierrez. She was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother who had a successful career as a florist.After she retired, her passions included nature and the outdoors, cooking for family, tending to her garden, listening to music and serving Jehovah.Lupe was known for facing challenges head on with fierce determination. She was as intelligent as she was creative and resourceful, leaving no room for excuses when results mattered. This was evident in how she lived her life and provided for others. Those who were blessed to know her well will miss her sense of humor and beautiful smile.She is survived by her husband and their four children, Mary Ann Hernandez, Eddie Chavez (Lydia), Domingo Chavez, Jr., and Susan Lopez (Christopher), seven grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her mother and father, siblings Stephanie Briseño, Mary Lou Gonzalez, Alicia Gutierrez, Magdaleno Gutierrez Jr., and Elizabeth Velasquez.Lupe's absence is deeply felt by all who knew and loved her.A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, March 16, 2026 from 11:00a.m. to 3:00p.m.with a talk service at 12:30p.m. at Alamo Funeral Home, 624 N.
