Gretchen Ann Schumacher passed away at the age of 91 on March 10, 2026. She was a woman of grace, warmth, and vibrant spirit who brought energy and joy to everyone around her. Always impeccably dressed and eager to connect, Gretchen was an active member of her community, forming many lasting friendships through her involvement in her homeowners association and neighborhood events.

Her faith served as the cornerstone of her life. She faithfully attended weekly Bible study and lived her beliefs through consistent kindness, compassion, and generosity. Above all, she was the devoted heart of her family. As a loving wife and mother, she raised seven children with strength, wisdom, patience, and her signature wit.

Gretchen was married to Paul J. Schumacher Sr. for 31 years until his death in 1989. She never remarried and often spoke of him with tears in her eyes. She is survived by her children, Jean (Roland) Rodriguez, Paul (Mary) Schumacher, Lisa (Alex) Deak, Karen (Keith) Bakos, Jack (Sarah Chard) Schumacher, Mark (Cathy) Schumacher, and Ellen (Mike) Walker; 19 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and her sisters, Marina (Jon) Scott and Ellen Koessler. She was preceded in death by her husband Paul, and her parents, Joseph and Helen Klausman.

She will be remembered for her lively personality, unwavering faith, and the deep love she held for her family and friends. Her presence will be profoundly missed, yet the memories she created will endure in the hearts of all who knew her.
