Gregory “Greg” Douglas Hoover, 69, of Franklin, passed away on March 10, 2026. Born on June 21, 1956, in Washington, D.C., to the late George and Carol Hoover, Greg served his community with dedication for twenty years as a paramedic and firefighter in Clearwater, Florida.
Greg cherished his family above all, finding his greatest joy in the company of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He embraced the role of grandfather with warmth and enthusiasm. An avid outdoorsman, he was often found by his grill perfecting meats cooked low and slow or riding his tractor on warm summer days. Known for his kind heart, Greg consistently sought the good in others and took pleasure in helping those around him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepmother, Kathy Hoover; his son, Douglas “Dougie” Hoover; and his granddaughter, Sarah Yon. He is survived by his loving wife, Donna Hoover; sons Robert Martinez, Peyton Yon, Christopher (Ashley) Hoover, Daniel (Michelle) Hoover, and Noah Hoover; daughters Carol (Kevin) Hoover and Laura Hoover; stepsons Aaron (Amanda) Rabin and Ed (Melinda) Rabin; brother Richard Hoover; grandchildren Shelby, Samantha, Kyle, Omar, Adam, Estella, Jett, Tyler, Benjamin, Aubrey, Kaleigh, Luke, Leon, Octavia, Kaye-ann, Haley, and Jacob; step-grandchildren Eleanor, Hudson, and William; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
