Gregg Novac ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Hampton Cove Funeral Home Cemetery & Crematory on Mar. 2, 2026.Gregg Alan Novac, 75, of Madison, AL, passed away peacefully on February 28, 2026 surrounded by his "Bride" of 53 years, Sue, his son Daniel, his daughter Amy, and daughter -in-law, Kristi by his side.Gregg was born in Milwaukee, WI to parents George and Irene Novac in Mount Sinai Hospital at a whopping 10 lbs. 4 oz. on June 2, 1950. He was the middle brother to siblings David George Novac and Jean "Jeanne" Marie Ireland. Gregg attended college at the University of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, earning a Bachelor's degree with a double major in Finance and Accounting. Gregg also served in the Navy Reserves for several years in the 1970s before retiring honorably. Those who knew Gregg best would remember him to be competitive, stubborn, and loyal. He would have said that his greatest accomplishment, aside from his career at General Motors and Delphi, was his family. He was a family man at heart, always putting his wife and children's needs first. His hobbies and passions included golfing with his brother-in-law, Brad Ireland, vacationing with his cousin, Larry Nowakowski and his family, learning about history, playing ping pong in the basement with his kids, enjoying good meals and drinks with the people he cared about, and catching the latest Green Bay Packers game on TV.Although he lived most of his life in his home state of Wisconsin -- surrounded by his fellow "Cheeseheads" and Badger fans -- Gregg and his family also lived in Flint, MI, El Paso, TX, Las Cruces, NM, and finally, in Huntsville, AL where he spent his final years with his family, including spending valuable time with his son-in-law Joseph Lawrence, daughter-in-law, Kristi Novac, and four grandchildren, Graham and Evelyn Novac, and Mia and Sydney Lawrence. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the ASPCA. https://secure.ASPCA.org/To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
